| Patrick Downey Position: President, Chief Executive Officer and Director Mr. Downey was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Elgin Mining Inc. in July 2011 bringing with him over 25 years of international experience in the resource industry. Prior to joining Elgin Mining Inc. Mr. Downey held the position of President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Aura Minerals Inc. Mr. Downey was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Viceroy Exploration Ltd. before its acquisition by Yamana Gold Inc. in 2006 for $600 million. Mr. Downey also served as President of Consolidated Trillion Resources Ltd. and Oliver Gold Corporation, where he negotiated their successful merger to form Canico Resource Corp., which was purchased by CVRD in 2006 for over $800 million. He has held numerous senior engineering positions at several large-scale gold mining operations and has also held operating positions at several mining projects for Anglo American Corporation in South Africa. Mr. Downey holds a Bachelor of Science (Hon.) degree in Engineering from Queen's University in Belfast, Ireland. Mr. Downey is a member of the Committee. | |
| Peter Tam Position: Chief Financial Officer Mr. Tam was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Elgin Mining in January 2012. Mr. Tam was previously Vice-President, Finance, with Aura Minerals Inc. which he joined in 2009. From 2000 to 2009, he held senior financial management positions with various companies involved in the software, real estate, pulp and paper, and mining sectors, including Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. where he was Treasurer. Prior to that, he worked in the assurance and tax advisory groups of KPMG LLP for seven years. Mr. Tam holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Hons) from the University of British Columbia, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. | |
| Vivian Park Position: Manager, Exploration Ms. Park has over 21 years of mineral industry experience that ranges from discovery to mining, with an emphasis on advanced exploration and feasibility. Ms. Park's global experience includes projects in Canada, Russia, Africa and South America. Ms. Park joined Elgin Mining Inc. in September 2011. Ms. Park's prior work includes managerial and technical roles with companies of all sizes. She was involved with the exploration/definition of the Kupol gold-silver mine and the Mangaziesky silver deposit in Russia, the Brewery Creek gold mine in Yukon, and several other highly successful deposits throughout the world. Ms. Park is a Professional Geoscientist registered in British Columbia. | |
| Michele Jones Position: Corporate Affairs Ms. Jones has worked in the corporate and administrative areas of the mining industry for over 30 years and most recently held the position of Vice-President, Corporate Affairs with Aura Minerals Inc. Previously, Ms Jones was the Corporate Secretary with Viceroy Exploration Ltd., prior to its acquisition by Yamana Gold Inc. and held the position of Corporate Secretary with several other public mining/exploration companies. | |
| Sharleen Hamm Position: Manager, Environment and Community Affairs Ms. Hamm has over 12 years of experience in industry and environmental consulting. Ms. Hamm has lead various aspects of environmental assessments for natural gas infrastructure and base metals exploration and development, primarily in northern Canada. Recently, she was the Environmental Coordinator for Denali-the Alaska Gas Pipeline as well as a Health, Safety and Environment Specialist with ConocoPhillips Canada. Prior to that, Ms. Hamm worked as an environmental consultant leading various aquatic assessments at numerous mineral properties in northern Canada. Ms. Hamm is a Registered Professional Biologist (B.C. and AB.) with a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Engineering. | |
| Jacques Wortman Position: Corporate Development Mr. Wortman has joined the Elgin Mining team as a consultant on the corporate development side. Mr.Wortman's focus will be to assist in the growth and development of the Company and assess opportunities as they arise. Mr. Wortman has worked in mining equity research for over 12 years, including almost 10 years as a Mining Analyst at GMP Securities covering small to mid-cap companies, several with key assets based in Nunavut. In this role, Mr. Wortman incorporated extensive financial modeling, commodity evaluation, and project evaluation. Prior to completing his MBA in Finance from Saint Marys University, Mr. Wortman completed a BSc Geology degree at Mount Allison University and worked as an exploration geologist for Noranda Exploration as well as several junior exploration companies. Most recently, he was Vice President, Corporate Development with a mid-tier gold producer. |
